Deployments are handled by a Sestek Application Support Engineer. Steps that the Support Engineer follows for a successful deployment are listed below.
There are some prerequisites that customers are responsible for prior to the deployment. These prerequisites can be found at Deployment Prerequisites.
Creating a Platform Image
Prior to deployment, Support Engineer creates a container image of the platform that is specific for the deployment. Platform image contains the scripts and packages required for the deployment and is stored securely in Central Sestek Container Registry.
Installing platform applications
During deployment, Support Engineer connects to the Terminal server and downloads a Knovvu command line tool called Maestro from the Central Sestek Artifactory. When run, Maesto pulls the platform image from the Central Sestek Container Registry and bootstraps platform applications.
Installing Knovvu applications
After the platform applications are deployed, Support Engineer will use Jenkins (which was deployed in the previous step), to further deploy and configure Knovvu applications.
